  1. Take 500 gm fresh Peas
  2. Make ready 1 inch chopped ginger
  3. Get 1 chopped green chilli
  4. Prepare 1 tbsp mustard oil

  6. Get 1 inch cinnamon
  7. Prepare 1 bay leaf
  8. Take 1 black cardamom
  9. Take 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  10. Get 1/8 tsp asafoetodia
  11. Take 1/2 tsp salt
  12. Get 1/8 tsp sugar
  13. Make ready 1 pinch turmeric powder
  14. Make ready 1 tsp coriander powder
  15. Take 1 tsp mango powder
  16. Prepare 1/4 tsp garam masala
  17. Get 1 tbsp desi ghee

  19. Take 1 tomato
  20. Make ready 50 gm Paneer
  21. Take 2 tbsp tamarind chutney
  22. Prepare 2 tbsp bhujia (sev)

All you need is some white peas, onion, tomato, tamarind chutney, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, salt and you are good to go. It is further garnished with sev and coriander leaves. The addition of tamarind chutney gives the tangy taste to the chaat and makes it even more appetizing. Healthy and low fat green peas chaat which has no oil in them.

Steps to make Peas Chaat:
  1. Collect all ingredients in a try or plate.
  2. Chopped tomato and Paneer separately. Keep aside.
  3. Heat desi ghee in non stick pan on medium heat. Shallow fry the Paneer pieces until turns into light golden.
  4. On medium flame heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cinnamon, bay leaf, black cardamom, cloves, cumin and asafoetodia. When whole spices cracked, add ginger and green chilli fry for a while on low flame.
  5. Now add peas, saute for a minute. Mix all the spices except mango powder and garam masala. (Sugar and turmeric powder have been mixed to retain the natural colour of peas)
  6. Add 1 tbsp of water and close the cooker's lid. Turn off the heat, when a whistle blows in the cooker.
  7. When steam released, open the cooker's lid. Mix mango powder and garam masala. Now put the cooked peas in the plate.
  8. Serve 'Peas Chaat' as per desired form. Firstly, take the 2 tbsp peas in a clay plate or any type of plate or bowl. Now garnish with tamarind chutney, bhujia, tomato and Paneer pieces and coriander leaves.
  9. Peas Chaat is ready to serve. Repeat the same method for all servings. Enjoy!!
