Hey everyone, I hope you’re having an incredible day today. Today, I will show you a way to prepare a special dish, akara pancakes. It is one of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I will make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Akara Pancakes is one of the most popular of recent trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions daily. It’s simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. Akara Pancakes is something which I have loved my whole life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.

When I had exhausted the bean paste and piled all the akara on top one another (i forgot to take a picture), it looked a little bland and too much like American Pancakes, so I decide to be inspired by the pictures of American pancakes I have seen topped with either a honey, maple or chocolate syrup and decided to go Nigerian by topping with Ata. I dedicate this Akara Pancakes recipe to the love of both akara and pancakes πŸ˜€πŸ˜‚. This recipe is very easy and is a good and easier method for lovers of Akara and fast food. Just incase you want Akara balls instead, Here's Akara balls recipe.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can have akara pancakes using 7 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

  1. Prepare 2 cups beans
  2. Get Cayenne pepper/scotch bonnet
  3. Prepare Onions
  4. Get Salt
  5. Take Seasoning cube(just a little and its optional)

That word is cannot or more powerful can't. That word just ignites the rebel in me in more ways than one, much to my mother's chagrin. Tell me can't and just watch fire light up in my eyes. E get one time like this I was doing shakara for Bobo when he requested for Akara.

Steps to make Akara Pancakes:
  1. Soak the beans for 10-15mins and peel(I usually soak in the night, peel and soak again in the fridge till the following morning, I do this whenever I'm using my blender 😊)
  2. In a blender, add ur beans, pepper, onions and blend together till smooth (if u are using seasoning cube, I suggest u blend with the beans)
  3. Pour into a bowl and add a little water. The batter shouldn't be thick like akara batter so it can fry easily. It's shouldn't be watery as well, just in-between. Add salt to taste and mix properly(u can also add egg if u want but I tried it once and it didn't taste like akara to me)
  4. In a non stick pan, heat up 2- 3 tablespoons oil. The akara pancakes need enough oil to fry unlike normal pancakes. The oil also prevent it from sticking to the pan even if it's a non stick pan. Using β…“ cup of measuring cup, scoop the beans into the pan, shake a little to level up and fry for 1-2 mins. Tilt the pan once in a while for the oil to circulate. When the edges start to get brown, flip and fry again for 2 mins. This should be done on low to medium heat.
  5. It's take about 4 mins to fry each Pancakes. U can flip 2-3 times until it's golden brown. When it's done, remove, add another 2 tablespoon of oil to the pan and continue frying until u are done… It took me 40mins to fry all but it was worth it. Always make sure the pan has oil in it before frying. I tried frying without oil and it was a disaster, couldn't even get it out.
  6. When flipping sometimes, the beans may splash into the pan, just use spoon to combine together and continue frying. Also ensure u fry in small sizes so it won't break easily. When done, serve with pap, custard, bread or as a snack. U can easily slide it into bread and eat😊. I hope this helps.
  7. Enjoy πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‹.
