But here, we are giving it a healthy twist and making it with oats. In these oats idli, equal portion of powdered oats and semolina is used.

Instructions to make Oats  Idlies:
  1. Heat 1 tsp oil.
  2. Add 1/4 chana dal.
  3. Roast chana dal and add 1tsp mustard seeds saute it.
  4. Add 1 cup semolina.
  5. Saute all the ingreidents for 4 minutes.
  6. Add one cup oatmeal.
  7. Continue to roast all ingredients.
  8. Transfer the roasted semolina, oats to a bowl.Add 1 cup milk or curd.
  9. Add 1 cup grated carrot boil it in a cooker.
  10. Boil 1/2 cup spinach also in a cooker.
  11. After boiling both (spinach,carrot) add 2 tsp curd in each material.
  12. Make a puree of both ingredients.
  13. Transfer to a bowl.
  14. Divide the soaked semolina oat mixture into 3 bowls.
  15. Add carrot puree to one bowl and mix it very well to remove lumps.
  16. Do the same process with spinach puree.
  17. Add 1/4 cup curd to the remaining bowl remove lumps.
  18. Add salt to each bowl.
  19. Add one big pinch of baking soda to each bowl. Mix batter in each bowl.
  20. Grease idli moulds.
  21. Pour batter in moulds.
  22. Place the idli stand.
  23. Cover with lid and cook on high for 8 - 10 minutes.
  24. Serve hot with Chutney or Schezwan sauce.

But here, we are giving it a healthy twist and making it with oats. In these oats idli, equal portion of powdered oats and semolina is used. Oats have tendency to become slimy as it gets cooked. So addition of rava help to avoid the sliminess. Good amount of yogurt is added in the idli batter which gives slight sour taste.
