  4. Occasionally spoon caramel mixture over top of pears
  5. Simmer till hot throughout DO NOT OVERCOOK
  6. Add your choice of chopped nut, I use chopped pecans
  7. Serve alone topped with powdered sugar or serve over ice cream, it is delicious either way!!

Remove from heat and let cool completely. Toss pears with lemon juice in a medium bowl. Melt butter in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat; stir in the pears.
