In a pestle and mortar or an electric blender add the peanuts and the onion mixture, the tamarind chutney and lemon juice then blend with a little water to form a smooth paste. Give it a tempering of mustard seeds, hing and dry red chillies. You can add tomato and fresh coriander to this chutney as well. You can also add grated fresh coconut in this chutney.

Steps to make Peanut Chutney:
  1. Let’s take some oil in a frypan, put the cumin seeds once the oil is hot and then add a pinch of asafoetida & curry leaves, ginger and garlic. Sauté for a while.
  2. Now add the peanuts and roast them patiently until their colour change a bit. As they are getting roasted, you will see and listen the sound of peanut crackles. Roast the peanuts for 5 mins. Now take out all from the pan and let it be cool.
  3. Once the peanuts are ready with cold and let’s put them in a grinder, add fresh crushed coconut, add temrinnd, add green chilli, add some water and add salt as per your test. grind them well and take out in a bowl.
  4. Now we will add the tempering on it. Let’s take the oil in a hot pan, add red dry red chilli, mustard seeds and sauté for a while. Now add this Tadka in the grinded chutney.
  5. Now the peanut Chutney is done and ready to serve. Enjoy the taste of peanuts.

You can add tomato and fresh coriander to this chutney as well. You can also add grated fresh coconut in this chutney.
