Vada pav, alternatively spelt wada pao, () is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra. The dish consists of a deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav) sliced almost in half through the middle. It is generally accompanied with one or more chutneys and a green chili pepper. Although it originated as cheap street food in Mumbai, it is now served in food.

Vada pav is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Vada pav is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are fine and they look wonderful.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have vada pav using 16 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Vada pav:
  1. Get 2 Paw or bunns
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp gram flour
  3. Prepare 1 tbsp rice flour
  4. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  5. Get 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  6. Prepare 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  7. Prepare 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  8. Get 10-12 curry leaves
  9. Get as required Refind oil for deep fry
  10. Take 2 medium sized boiled potatoes
  11. Make ready to taste Salt
  12. Make ready 1 tsp mustard seeds
  13. Get 1 pinch baking soda
  14. Take 1/2 tsp grated Ginger
  15. Prepare 5-6 finely chopped Garlic cloves
  16. Prepare 3-4 finely chopped Green chili

Mumbai's popular street food, Vada Pav - spicy potato filling sandwiched between buns and layers of spicy garlic and green chutney! Vada Pav is one of Mumbai's most famous food. It's almost synonyms with the city, in fact I remember when I was in Mumbai few years back, it was one of my goals to eat vada pav! While the oil is heating up, prepare the vada batter.

Instructions to make Vada pav:
  1. Heat oil into the pan add mustured seeds, let's them splutters, now add curry leaves, ginger, garlic, green chili, saute for few min. Than add mashed boiled potatoes, mix and fry for 3-4 min.
  2. Add coriander leaves, mix well,switch off the flame keep it to cool. Now make a thick batter of gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asafoetida, baking soda, Salt with required water.
  3. Now take a small portions of potato mixture and dip into batter, full heat refined oil into medium flame.
  4. Fry the badas into oil to both side till it's cooked or golden brown. Take it out from the oil on tissue paper to absorb extra oil,cut the paw from the middle.
  5. Spread green chutney, tamarind chutney than garlic chutney keep badas into middle of bunns.
  6. Now it's ready serve it hot with fried chili as a snacks or breakfast.

It's almost synonyms with the city, in fact I remember when I was in Mumbai few years back, it was one of my goals to eat vada pav! While the oil is heating up, prepare the vada batter. Place the gram flour, bicarbonate of soda and a pinch of salt in a bowl and slowly start adding the water until a loose thin batter forms (you may not need all the water). It originated in the streets of Mumbai as a fast food that was cheap and affordable even by a common man. To make vada pav, batata vada is sandwiched in Indian bun which is known as pav.
